The Mini-Nubian goat is the result of a cross between the Nigerian Dwarf (usually a buck) and the Nubian (usually a doe). Foundation stock animals are required to be reistered in their respective breed.
Breed characteristics generally include pendulous ears, slightly convex nose, short stature (19 to 26 inches at the shoulder on average) stocky body conformation with good dairy character, medium length coat and coming in all colors.
The obvious advantages of Mini-Nubians? A very elegant little animal with style and grace. Not only beautiful to admire, but friendly, personable and enchanting creatures who display a never-ending charm of exuberance and zest for life.
A combination of Nigerian Dwarf hardiness and stamina befriended with the temperament and productivity of the Nubian goat.
Definitely forever entertaining with a beguiling people-appeal sure to captivate the animal lover.
Perfect for both the youngster or the elderly goat lover, their size orients them toward the small homesteader, the backyard enthusiast or the 4-H member.
They require much less space and feed while their productivity offers up to three quarts of rich creamy healthful milk per day for the home kitchen.
Also bear in mind that the Mini animal is much easier to manage, in fact, one can transport the perspective mother in the back seat of the family car when the need arises for breeding. Which eliminates, of course, the need to keep a herd buck about all year around. Because of their gentle temperament and congenial manner, they go on lead much easier than the family dog.
